About Our Staff
Meet our caring and dedicated staff in both the front and back office

Lisa Scott RN has extensive hospital based experience at Chandler Regional Medical Center working in labor and delivery. She currently teaches “Baby your Baby” and CPR training classes at Chandler Regional and Mercy Gilbert Medical Centers. She answers triage calls from parents in our office and teaches the baby and child care basics class at the bi monthly “Meet the Doctor Visit” in Gateway Pediatrics. Lisa has two grown daughters and brings her own successful parenting experiences to work at Gateway Pediatrics.

Monika Davis LPN also answers triage calls from parents and is the back office nurse manager. Monika moved to AZ from West Virginia and quickly gained a wealth of Pediatric experience at Gateway Pediatrics. Monika supervises the back office nurses, orders all medical supplies and vaccines, trains MA externs, and schedules "Meet The Doctor" visits for office tours with parents. She also helps room patients and administer vaccines as well as assist Dr. Sudha in minor outpatient procedures such as wound care, suture removal, freezing warts, draining abscesses etc. Monika would like to become an RN or NP.

Gina Zimmerman LPN works primarily in the back office helping room patients and administering vaccines. Gina usually calls parents back with X-ray and lab results. Lisa, Monika and Gina all participate in taking care of prescription refills. Gina worked in a Pediatric practice before joining us in 2008. Gina has a young daughter who was born prematurely. Gina therefore has a special affinity for premies!

Valerie Walton RN joined us in April 2011. She worked for many years in the PICU at Phoenix Childrens Hospital and later at an Allergy/Immunology office. Giving shots therefore comes easy to Valerie! She has plenty of parenting experience raising three children of her own, two in college and one in high school. She also provides support and teaching to families when a child is newly diagnosed with Type 1 (Insulin Dependent Diabetes Mellitus).

We have a well trained Medical Assistant in our office Traci Henry. Traci worked in an Elementary School for many years as a school MA and is well versed in verifying immunization records of school age children to ensure they meet the State of AZ requirements. Traci has been trained to enter immunization data into the State's online Immunization Registry (ASIIS). With 3 children of her own, Traci's experience in an Elementary School is backed by her own parenting skills.

Khrista Jackson a familiar name and face to most of our patients for the last 5 years, is now enrolled in the accelerated RN program at Chandler Gilbert Community College. Over the next 15 months, Khrista will continue to work at Gateway Pediatrics one night a week while she trains to become an RN with a special interest in Pediatrics. We eagerly look forward to welcoming Khrista back as a full fledged nurse in 2012!!

Khrista trained Brittany Sanborn who was one of our file clerks to answer patient phone calls, scheduling appointments, directing nurse triage calls etc. Brittany will be assisted by Celena Chacon at the front desk. Celena worked as the Pediatric unit secretary at Mercy Gilbert Medical Center for many years and is glad to transition to our office following the closure of the unit in July.

Beverly Carter (“Grandma Bev”) who joined our practice in 2006 is our primary referral coordinator. Bev worked in a large multispecialty practice for many years in Missouri prior to moving to AZ. She spends much of her time calling specialist offices, chasing after insurance authorizations, and scheduling appointments for our patients. Certain specialty appointments are especially hard to get and Bev can be counted on to schedule such appointments in a timely manner. With grown children, several grandchildren ( and a few cats) "Grandma Bev" is well known fixture at Gateway Pediatrics.

Lynette Holland joined Gateway Pediatrics in 2008 and primarily work the front desk, answering patient phone calls, scheduling appointments, directing nurse triage calls etc. Lynette has grown children and grandchildren and lived in Sierra Vista before moving to the Valley.  Lynette now helps Khrista in coordinating social events such as staff birthdays etc.

Karla Valdez first began working with us as a file clerk when she was a high school student. Currently enrolled in community college, Karla plans to pursue a career in health care. Karla is fluently bilingual.

Beginning as a patient of Dr. Sudha, Katherine Klein also started working as a file clerk at Gateway Pediatrics. Katherine recently graduated from ASU with her undergraduate degree in Molecular Biosciences and Bio Technology. Katherine helps Dr. Sudha with the technological part of Gateway Pediatrics such as managing email communication.

Current file clerks include Alex Hunt, Tannesha Clarke, and Shivani Patel.

All our staff take pride in customer service and efficiency.

We often have high school students work as file clerks in our office. These are bright, talented motivated teenagers who usually wish to pursue a career in a health care related field such as Medicine or Nursing.
